Debbie A. Martin, CPDT-KA, KPA CTP, LVT, VTS (Behavior): Considerate approach, touch gradient, we're going to use with all patients and we're going to use gentle control techniques too. But distraction techniques where you just [feed pets] food, times I would use [those] would be [with] an animal that has a low fear, anxiety and stress level already. So they're tolerating what you're doing, they're interested in the food, they don't find that particular procedure you're going to do aversive.
