Invetx appoints Dr Marcus Remmers to board of directors

Invetx, a company focusing on protein-based therapeutics for animal health, has recently appointed Marcus Remmers, PhD, to its board of directors.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr Remmers, an accomplished life sciences executive with significant veterinary biologics and animal health expertise, to our board of directors,” expressed Juergen Horn, PhD, chief executive officer, Invetx, in a company release.¹ “He will be a valuable addition as we advance our pipeline of novel antibody therapeutics targeting chronic and serious diseases in dogs and cats.”

Currently a partner at Novo Holdings and a member of the World Economic Forum’s Expert Network, Remmers most recent position was as chief technology officer at DSM, a global health, nutrition, and bioscience company. Before that, he was vice president, global head of biologics R&D and vice president, global head of pharma R&D at Merial, a veterinary medicine company acquired by Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health in 2017. Earlier in his career, he worked as a country president for Intervet (later Schering-Plough Animal Health). He achieved degrees in chemistry from the University of Munster and University of Freiburg, and a doctorate in chemistry from the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research.¹
