1. Be nice to your knees
Restraining patients on the floor starts to take a toll on knees. Ashley L. Sanders, RVT, at Chowan Animal Hospital in Edenton, N.C., uses a foam garden mat to ease her kneeling pain.

2. Dispense alcohol with ease
Always on the go as a mobile equine veterinarian, Dr. Gary J. Amaral of Bonita, Calif., takes the pop-up caps off dish-soap bottles and places the lids onto his alcohol bottles. "That way, when you need a little squirt of alcohol, it can easily be done," he says.
