Last-minute gifts for your favorite cat lover

Article

Animal-themed books are best-sellers.

Still scratching your head on what to get your favorite cat lover this holiday? Well, if your feline fan is also a book aficionado, you're in luck. This season, cats are quickly climbing to the top of critic's reading lists.

The recently released book, Dewey, the Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World, by Vicki Myron and Bret Witter, has already landed on the top 10 for the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Publishers Weekly. Which isn't surprising considering the book revolves around the yellow tabby's real-life story. Discovered emaciated in a library's drop box, Dewey Readmore Books survived abandonment, adverse elements, and still managed to save a small town's library and it's patrons' spirits.

Other feline-friendly reads include, The Ultimate Cat Lover: The Best Experts' Advice for a Happy, Healthy Cat with Stories and Photos of Fabulous Felines, a compilation of true stories that celebrate the unique and life-changing bond between cats and their people. And The Cat Who Invented Bebop by Marshall Arisman, a beautifully illustrated saga of Stringbean McCoy, a stray keen on jazz.

Of course, there are always more light-hearted stocking stuffers to choose, such as the classic The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss or If You Give a Cat a Cupcake by Laura Numeroff. And don't forget about the dog lovers. Marley and Me and A Very Marley Christmas, both by John Grogan, are also topping critic's charts.
