With four exam rooms, it's sometimes difficult to know which clients and patients are in which rooms. We hung dry-erase boards on the outside of each exam room door so we could label them with the patient's first and last name. We also write notes like "urine sample pending" and "has fleas." This has been very helpful when returning a pet to a room after a treatment, as well as simply knowing the patient's and owner's name when first entering an exam room.
