Grab clients' attention and encourage compliance by using descriptive terminology, suggests Sharon DeNayer, a Firstline Editorial Advisory Board member and the practice manager at Windsor Veterinary Clinic in Windsor, Colo. For example, instead
of using, "spay," say "ovariohysterectomy." And substitute "professional periodontal therapy" for "dental."
"When you use the right words, clients better understand the nature of the procedures and why they're important for their
pets' health," DeNayer says.
