As with many practice teams, the staff at the Waynesville Veterinary Hospital in Waynesville, Ohio, is like a close-knit family. So when a team member is out sick or experiences a difficult time, the hospital shows it cares by sending hugs—of the personalized paper variety. "Each staff member will color and decorate a paper person cutout and send special wishes to our colleague," says office manager Eileen Mallory. "Even the clinic cats send hugs. They last a lot longer than flowers and have a personal touch. I received my first hug from my grandson four years ago, which got the idea started. I still have my hug over my desk, and it always brings a smile."
