The emotion: Lying

The body language: A co-worker who’s lying will touch his face—particularly his nose, mouth, and ears—and will do his best to avoid eye contact with you. He might constantly swallow or clear his throat, lick his lips incessantly, or blink rapidly.

How you should respond: Try to get to the bottom of why he’s not being truthful, but be understanding.
