Charter members of the Academy of Internal Medicine for Veterinary Technicians (AIMVT) received veterinary technician specialist (VTS) credentials on June 3 at the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Forum in San Antonio. Thirty-five technicians received VTS credentials in one of four internal medicine subspecialties: cardiology, oncology, or small or large animal internal medicine. "We're proud to give credentialed veterinary technicians these additional opportunities to advance in their careers and avoid burnout," says Linda Merrill, LVT, VTS, Executive Director of AIMVT in Seattle. "Especially for large animal technicians--this is their first opportunity to become specialists." For more information, visit AIMVT.com.
