Create a triangle of wellness

Article

Use these tips from Christiane Holbrook, a life coach in Pasadena, Calif., to maintain a healthy life balance.

Physical health

  • Eat a healthy diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

  • Get plenty of sleep.

  • Exercise regularly.

Emotional health

  • Find and participate in activities that nourish your soul, such as meditating, practicing yoga, writing in a journal, or listening to music or self-help tapes or CDs.

  • Set clear boundaries between yourself and others.

  • Assess your emotional reaction to stress and recognize which events you control.

Occupational health

  • Assess your current job and work environment to determine whether it fulfills your needs. Ask yourself these questions:

  • Does your work fit your interests?

  • Are you passionate about your work? Do you love what you do?

  • Does it allow you to use all of your strengths?

  • Does it allow you a proper amount of leisure time?
